The Alderman is a classic, Art Deco-inspired wine bar in East Brunswick. One of the oldest in the area, this warm-hearted local is distinguished by its subtle and elegant handcrafted décor, leafy courtyard and inviting fireplace.
With moody lighting and an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere, The Alderman is the perfect place for a first date or gathering with friends.
Delicious tapas plates from Bar Idda perfectly compliment our selection of local wines, beers and spirits. You’ll find the hours slip away with our spicy mulled wine in winter or classic cocktail jugs on warmer days.
In 2009, The Alderman featured in Anthony Bourdain’s episode of ‘No Reservations’.
Our upstairs lounge and balcony can be booked for private functions hosting up to fifty people, perfect for all occasions.
Please note that due to density restrictions we are not currently taking bookings for our function space.
We are open for walk ins only.
Tentative bookings for large groups can be made for late November and December, however will be dependant on further easing of restrictions.
Please note, we are open for walk ins only. We are not currently taking dinner and drinks bookings.
